Yarl's Wood jury sent home for night
The jury in the trial of five men accused of taking part in arson attacks on an asylum detention centre were sent home on Wednesday evening.

The court announced the decision at 1700 BST and the court will re-adjourn at 1000 BST on Thursday to resume its deliberations.

More than half of the Yarl's Wood property in Bedfordshire was destroyed by fire after rioting broke out in February last year.

Lucky Jacobs, 23, Henry Momodou, 39, Kayode Abdul, 24, Behar Limani, 26, and Jgergi Tuka, 25, all deny one count of violent disorder at the Home Office detention centre in February 2002.

After a lengthy summing-up following the three-month trial at Harrow Crown Court, Judge Roger Sanders sent out the jury to consider its verdicts just after 1130 BST.

He told the seven men and four women: "It has taken some time but that's no surprise, bearing in mind the actual evidence spanned some eight or nine weeks to deliver."
