Durham Tees Valley Airport suspended all flights on Monday night because of "challenging weather". Nine flights to and from the airport have been cancelled and it is not yet known how Tuesday's services will be affected. A spokesman said continuing snow showers had been falling on compacted ice, while temperatures have dropped as low as -9.5C. The main concern was for passenger safety, he added. Flights to and from Amsterdam, Aberdeen and Southampton are affected. Further details are available on the airport's website.
