Fortis to create 1,500 new jobs

Financial services company Fortis is set to create 1,500 new jobs as part of a deal with supermarket giant Tesco.

The company hopes to become the second biggest car insurer in the country after signing a deal to provide products to the chain's financial arm.

The firm says it will create jobs across its bases, including at its headquarters in Chandler's Ford.

It also has offices in Haywards Heath, Bournemouth, Gloucester, London, Redditch, Stoke-on-Trent and Belfast.

Benny Higgins, chief executive of Tesco Personal Finance, said: "This new partnership with Fortis will provide us with the flexibility to build on this success and grow the business further.

"I'm delighted that we will also create more than 1,500 new UK jobs."
