The funeral of former England manager Sir Bobby Robson has been held at a private family service. Sir Bobby, who died on Friday aged 76 following a long battle against cancer, was buried on Wednesday in an unnamed location in the North East of England. The service at an undisclosed location was attended by Robson's widow Elsie and their sons, Andrew, Paul and Mark. His agent said arrangements for a thanksgiving service in celebration of his life would be announced soon. "Sir Bobby Robson was laid to rest today at a private family service," a family statement said. "Lady Robson has been overwhelmed by the wonderful tributes and messages of condolence and is very grateful that the family's privacy has been respected at this sad time." Over the weekend, fans at matches paid tribute to the former Ipswich and Newcastle manager. The tributes included a shrine at Newcastle's St James' Park, which the Robson family visited on Sunday.
