Father appeals to missing family

The father of children missing with their mother for two weeks, has appealed for help in tracing them.

Natalie Bracht, 34, left her home in Sunderland on 17 May with her five daughters, aged between five and 13.

She travelled to Newcastle and then to London's King's Cross, where she changed clothes in what police say was an attempt to evade identification.

Her former partner Dietrich Bracht, who travelled to the North East, said he needed to know his children were safe.

In a statement distributed by police Mr Bracht, who is father of the three youngest of the five daughters, said: "I am very worried about the girls, I just want to know that they are safe and well."

CCTV images show Ms Bracht in Newcastle wearing a red Berghaus-style jacket, but in London she is seen wearing a flowing white robe and head scarf.

School friends

Northumbria Police officers are being assisted by their counterparts in the Metropolitan Police force.

After information placed the family in the Harlesden area of the capital last week, officers now believe she may have moved on to another part of the city.

Mr Bracht added: "I am worried that they have been moved away from their home in Sunderland, from their school and from their friends.

"To my girls, I just want to say how much I love you."

DCI Roger Ford said: "So far her decision to change her appearance and avoid identification by moving away from her home shows a high degree of planning and a great deal of effort."
