Stars of the football world have offered support to Paul Gascoigne, who has been released after being detained under the Mental Health Act. The ex-England star, 40, had been in hospital since being detained last month after an incident at a hotel.
He was released from a Darlington hospital on Friday and is now believed to be staying with his father.
Former international team-mate Peter Shilton said: "Hopefully, now, he can get himself back on track."
Police were called to the Hilton Hotel in Gateshead on 20 February where Gascoigne is said to have made staff and guests feel "threatened" by his behaviour.

He was taken to the Middleton St George Hospital for treatment.
Following his release he is believed to be staying at his father's house in Dunston, Gateshead.
Ex-England goalkeeper Shilton said: "Obviously I hope that Paul gets over the problems he's having.
"It would be nice to see him get back to what we know he can be.
"We had some great times together and it is a bit worrying really to see him in the situation he's been in."
Meanwhile, the ex-Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday manager Ron Atkinson said: "I'm sure everyone in football wishes him all the best in whatever happens to him."
One of Gascoigne's former clubs, Tottenham Hotspur, has said it will help him via a trust set up to assist ex-players.
Jonathan Adelman, chairman of the Tottenham Tribute Trust, said: "It is our clear priority to look to support him and his family at this difficult time."
Newcastle United have also contacted Gazza's family to offer them help.
