Staff from Keynsham joined their fellow workers at Bournville |
Cadbury's workers have been holding a protest in the West Midlands over plans to close a company factory. Staff from the threatened Somerdale factory in Keynsham, near Bristol, joined workers outside the Bournville plant to promote their campaign.
They handed over a letter thanking fellow workers for their support.
In October, the company announced plans to shut Keynsham, restructure Bournville and transfer some manufacturing to Poland.
Cadbury's plans will mean the loss of 500 jobs at the Keynsham site by 2010.
A further 200 jobs would also be cut at the Bournville plant.
Unite convenor Andy Nicholls said Cadbury bosses needed to know their workers and consumers opposed the job losses and the "environmental havoc" of transferring work to Poland.
Sites at Chirk, Wales, and Marlbrook, Herefordshire, will be unaffected.
