Three men have been arrested by police investigating serious disorder which broke out on the day of a football match in Carlisle. The incidents took place in and around the city centre before, during and after the friendly game with Sunderland on 29 July.
The men, aged 32, 33 and 34, all from the North East, have been charged with public order offences and assault.
They will appear before magistrates in Carlisle on 29 September.
A police spokesman said the investigation was continuing and it was fully expected further arrests would be made.
