| Thousands of people were expected to take part in a parade through Maidstone, Kent, on Sunday, to celebrate St George's Day. In Tunbridge Wells, scouts and morris dancers were taking to the streets. Events were planned across Kent and Sussex including a confrontation between St George and "a surly dragon" on Brighton seafront. Celebrations in Maidstone included a market selling locally produced food and an arts and crafts fair. Concerts being held on Sunday in the county included performances by the Hazlitt Youth Theatre performing The Legend of St George and the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra.
