Forum aims to tackle homelessness
An event is being held to tackle the problem of homelessness in the region.

People who support the homeless in the East Midlands are invited to join in the Regional Homelessness Forum in Leicester on Wednesday.

It aims to bring together charities and government representatives to discuss solutions to the issue, which affects 3,000 households in the region.

Ideas from the forum will be used to draw up priorities and shape the Regional Housing Strategy.

Claire Grainger, chair of the forum, said: "This breaks new ground in providing a meeting point for all those concerned with homelessness.

"It presents the opportunity to ensure that the Regional Housing Strategy identifies, prioritises and prevents homelessness in all its forms by actively seeking to engage everyone who can be part of the solution."
