Mystery 'ghost ship' haunts beach
Moondance
Moondance is the only boat on Whitstable's West Beach
The owner of an abandoned "ghost ship" which washed up on Whitstable's West Beach five years ago is being sought by council officers in Kent.

The boat, called Moondance, is thought to have broken free from moorings in Essex before it drifted across the Thames Estuary.

During its passage, the crewless boat sustained some damage.

It has been on the beach ever since and Canterbury City Council wants it moved to allow sea defence work to go ahead.

Officials believe the mystery boat changed ownership after arriving at the beach, possibly to a local person, but investigations to find the skipper have proved unsuccessful.
