Tourism chiefs involved in selling Britain as a holiday destination are themselves touring some of the region's top attractions. Staff from VisitBritain offices around the world are on a fact-finding visit, and will be sharing their impressions with colleagues on their return.
Destinations include Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Castle and Garden, Hartlepool Historic Quay, and the Bowes Museum.
VisitBritain is responsible for marketing Britain to the world.
The 'Product Knowledge' event has been organised by the development agency One NorthEast.
'First-class impression'
Visitors are coming from the USA, Spain, Germany, Ireland, Spain and Belgium.
They will be visiting Locomotion The National Railway Museum at Shildon, The Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, Hartlepool Historic Quay, Beamish Museum, NewcastleGateshead, Hadrian's Wall, Alnwick Castle and Garden, Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island.
