Wessex Train at Bristol's Sea Mills station
National Express operate the West's Wessex Trains franchise
Coach and rail operator National Express has launched a new website detailing its plans for the Greater Western train franchise.

The group joins First Great Western and London & Western who are attempting to win the route which runs from London to Bristol and the South West.

The franchise will be an amalgamation of the current Great Western, Great Western Link and Wessex Trains routes.

The website says it will employ more route directors to help punctuality.

It adds the group plans to employ more customer services representatives.

National Express currently runs Wessex, C2c, Gatwick Express, Central Trains, Midland Mainline, Silverlink and Wagn.

The franchise is due to run from April 2006.
