Winter vomiting virus notice
A winter vomiting virus notice asked hospital visitors to use hand rub
The winter vomiting bug has hit hospitals across the eastern region.

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has restricted visiting on Elsing ward, a spokesman for the hospital told BBC News.

One ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, has also been closed to new admissions.

Two wards at Northampton General Hospital have been closed while six wards at Bedford Hospital have been hit by the bug.

Matron Sian Watkins, at the Norwich and Norwich University Hospital, said: "We would urge that no-one should visit hospital if they have the stomach bug or have been in contact with someone who's had the bug in the previous three days.

"We are still getting visitors coming to the wards who are actually suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting.

"They are still contagious and the virus does spread very easily," she said.
