Detectives are hunting two men after a student was gunned down outside a city cafe. Nureni Mumin Sheikh died after being shot twice in the Moss Side area of Manchester on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Sheikh, from Manor Park, London, was thought to have been attending a wedding celebration or an engagement party at a nearby mosque shortly before he was shot.
On Monday community leaders in the area - notorious for fatal shootings during the 1990s - expressed fears gun crime was on the increase again.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said there was no clear motive for the latest shooting. The force said there was nothing in Mr Sheikh's background to suggest he had links with gangs in the area.
Emergency crews were called after Mr Sheikh was shot outside the Zaku Cafe in Claremont Road, at about 1730 GMT.
He was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but died shortly after arrival.
Both suspects are black or of mixed race and about 5ft 10ins tall.

They were wearing balaclavas and gloves at the time of the shooting and left the scene on foot.
Superintendent Neil Wain, of GMP, said: "We have no motive at this stage.
"We are very interested in any information that could lead to the arrest of these individuals."
Mr Sheikh was originally from Somalia but had been living in the UK for about 10 years.
"There's nothing in his background to suggest any links to any gangs here," said a police spokeswoman.
'Community mourning'
"There's nothing to suggest he had any involvement in criminality himself."
Said Jama, from the Somaliland Community Centre nearby, said the Somali community was very upset by the shooting.
"We are very sad, we are in mourning," he said. "He had nothing to do with gangs or drugs.
"We are getting very worried that this could be the beginning of something."
