Bull on line delays commuters
A Connex train
A train hit a bull near Tonbridge
Rail services on a busy commuter line have been delayed on Tuesday morning after a train hit a bull.

The animal had got onto the line between High Brooms and Tonbridge when it was hit by a southbound Connex train at about 0740 BST.

Train services between London's Charing Cross station and Hastings on the Sussex coast were severely affected.

The line passes through busy commuter stations including Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks.

By 0815 BST crowds of delayed passengers had gathered at the stations with reports of no trains running at all at that time around the Tunbridge Wells area.

The National Rail Enquiries website was warning of delays of up to 50 minutes on services on the London-Hastings line.

By 0920 it said the problem had been cleared but that some delays and alterations could still be expected.
