A man has died and a woman has been seriously injured after their jet-ski hit a pier support in Blackpool. Hundreds of holidaymakers watched in horror as the pair crashed just after 1500 BST on Good Friday.
An inshore lifeboat was called out and attended the scene.
The man was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital and the woman remains in a serious condition.
Police later confirmed the man and woman were a married couple - the man was in his early 40s and the woman in her late 30s.
A police investigation is under way.
