Met reveals 10 most wanted
Abdul Salam is wanted in connection with murder

The Metropolitan Police has started a website listing its top 10 most wanted men and women.

Scotland Yard's Most Wanted contains information about people the constabulary want to question in connection with murders, rapes, thefts firearms offences and child neglect.

All those featured are either wanted to appear in court, to serve sentences already given or to help police investigations into serious offences.

Commander Andy Baker, head of the Met's murder investigations, said: "By creating Scotland Yard's Most Wanted we are hopeful that the general public who may know or just recognise either the person or item of property that we are publishing, will give us a call.

"In many cases we think that these people will be living quite openly in communities across the UK and even the smallest piece of information can help police to track down a suspect, a wanted person, a missing person and where appropriate, to find a piece of property.

"Some of the people we have posted may well have travelled abroad and we would also appeal to ex-pat communities to check our website and see if any of their neighbours or friends resemble our suspects."

If anyone does recognise someone from the list they are urged not to approach them but to contact police.
