 Patients will get new technology by their beds |
Patients in hospitals in North Lincolnshire are to get state-of-the art communication units at their bedsides. It means they will be able to access, radio TV, and the telephone whenever they want.
The equipment is to be installed at Goole and District Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.
Work is due to begin later in the year and will take three months to complete.
Rachel Macdonald, from Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "The new system will provide patients with not only flexibility, but also choice.
"They will have access to a range of television channels, talking books, electronic games, information services, the latest movies, the radio and telephone."
The move to install the new units is part of the NHS Patient Power Project which calls for televisions and telephones to be provided in all hospitals by 2004.
