A motorist was killed in a road crash on the A10 in Hertfordshire on Monday morning. Police said the man's blue Metro car came off the road, travelled down an embankment and hit trees.
He has not been identified.
The crash took place at 0745 BST between Buntingford and Puckeridge, north of the Braughing roundabout.
The driver of a red Escort was treated for chest injuries and shock.
Police said they are trying to trace the driver of a small silver hatchback who left the scene.
The A10 was closed temporarily while police investigated the crash.
