The plan is to turn the site into a mixed-use city quarter
Plans to regenerate the Millbay area of Plymouth will move a step closer next week with the official launch of the Millbay area regeneration strategy.

The plan aims to transform the 19-hectare site into a bustling mixed-use city quarter.

The strategy, which will be officially launched on 31 March at Stonehouse Creek Community Centre, went through widespread public consultation last year.

Funded by the South West Regional Development Agency (RDA) and Plymouth City Council, the proposals include plans for marine-related business units, apartments, offices, a hotel, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Public exhibition locations
1 April -5 April: Stonehouse Creek Community Centre
7 April-11 April: HQ, Union Street
14 April-22 April: Plymouth Pavilions

A public exhibition of the plans will be at locations throughout Plymouth from 31 March.

''I am delighted that we are now able to officially launch this strategy," said Carl Budden, South West RDA development manager.

"It's vital that the Millbay community remains actively involved in the regeneration of the area and I'm looking forward to meeting many familiar faces at next week's launch.'"
