Cornish Brie won a gold medal at the British Cheese awards |
Cornish Country Larder's award-winning Cornish Brie will be taking centre stage as one of the star attractions at this week's International Food Exhibition's (IFE) in London. Produced by the Cornish Country Larder, based near Newquay, Cornish Brie has already won a number of awards, including a gold medal at the British Cheese awards last September.
And the UK Guild of Cheesemakers has selected Cornish Brie to take pride of place at its stand at the show.
The IFE is the UK's premier food and drink exhibition and is an important event for the Cornish company, with many distributors looking to place orders.
Increased capacity
Since opening in 1997, the Cornish Country Larder has gone from strength to strength, and now employs 22 people.
The company's production capacity has increased four-fold in the last two years thanks in part to an Objective One investment towards a 2.3 million expansion.
The 461,600 investment from the Objective One European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund with match funding from Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, enabled the dairy to double the size of its buildings and purchase new equipment.
