Magician's cheesy stunt
Noah Kelly
Noah Kelly is congratulated after 48 hours in the cheese construction

An entertainer who entombed himself in blocks of cheese in a parody of a stunt performed by American magician David Blaine, emerged "light-headed and dizzy" on Saturday.

Magician Blaine endured a 62-hour stint sealed in ice in New York's Times Square, while Noah Kelly spent 48 hours surrounded by 20 kg blocks of mature Cheddar cheese.

Kelly, who went into the construction at 1200 GMT on Thursday emerged at slightly after 1200 GMT on Saturday.

The 32-year-old Weston-super-Mare man, said he had not been impressed by Blaine's stunt, which he claimed was "easy".

World record

As a spoof version of what Blaine attempted, Kelly decided to entomb himself in cheese in a shopping centre.

Kelly, who once held the world record for building the highest card tower, was given oxygen through a vented roof.

As part of his training, he ate a block of cheese a day to acclimatise his body to the smell, texture and taste of cheese.

After emerging from the cheesy construction, he said: "It was fantastic but the cheese started to settle into itself eventually and I ended up with a 20k block of cheese virtually on the end of my nose.

"I felt a bit light-headed and dizzy when I came out into the bright sunlight," he said.

As for his next stunt: "Peanut butter and marshmallows are two underrated food products," he said.
