Nearly a quarter of a million pounds is to be spent on the next stage of improvements to a Derbyshire park. Work has already been undertaken on the bandstand and the iron gates at West Park in Long Eaton.
The extra money will be used on a new boating lake and refurbishment of the park's changing rooms.
The work, which is expected to cost a total of �1.3m, is due to be finished in September.
Martin Latimer, Erewash Borough Council's Parks and Events manager, said: "It's a major resource for the town and it's a very large park, being over 100 acres.
"In fact it is the premier park and open space in the whole borough of Erewash.
"What we wanted to do was put some investment into the park as it has been needing that for some of years and now lots of things are being done."
