Bypass drives traffic from village
A new bypass which will improve road safety in a Shropshire village will open to road users on Monday.

The new A5 Nesscliffe Bypass, between Felton Butler Roundabout and Wolfshead Roundabout, aims to take traffic away from Nesscliffe village.

One lane of the dual carriageway will be open in each direction of the road on Monday afternoon with a 50mph speed limit and new traffic signing in force.

The bypass will be fully open as a dual carriageway with a 70mph speed limit once outstanding work on the road has been completed in April.

Highways Agency Project Sponsor, Paul Tully, said: "All major road works and bridge works are now complete, including an innovative footbridge available for use by pedestrians, although we still have further work left to complete over the next two months."

He added: "I would like to thank the local residents and road users for their patience during the construction of the new bypass and remind those using the route to take extra care as they get used to the new layout."
