Scheme to revamp resort
A scheme to improve the image and appearance of Cleethorpes is to get under way.

Renovations will take place to the waterfall on Central Promenade, and on the Kingsway Gardens.

A boardwalk will also be created along the marine embankment to allow visitors and residents to walk over the sand dunes.

There will also be re-surfacing of the parking area on Grant Street to turn it into a round-the-year coach park.

The changes are intended to improve the look of the seafront, create better transport links, and develop tourism.

Councillor Peter Ramsden said: "These are exciting times for Cleethorpes.

"The improvements that are about to take place will not only make Cleethorpes a more attractive place to visit but improve the quality of life for the local community.

"These schemes are the beginning of a much larger development plan designed to bring Cleethorpes into the 21st century."

The projects are due to be finished in time for the summer holiday season.
