Council plans smoking blitz
Smoker
More than 50 pubs and restaurants are smoke-free
Customers are being urged to highlight pubs and restaurants in Stoke-on-Trent which they would like to become smoke-free zones.

The city council is looking to increase the number of non-smoking establishments which currently stands at 53.

Council staff are supporting National No Smoking Day on Wednesday 12 March.

The council's food safety team has campaigned for two years to create smoke free areas in pubs.

The latest campaign will be launched in the Potteries Shopping Centre, Hanley, on 12 March when shoppers will be asked to fill in nomination cards.

The food safety team will then contact the premises and encourage licensees to consider their customer's wishes.
