Bike crash victim honoured
The parents of a motorbike crash victim have raised 10,000 to open a new relatives' room at a Merseyside Hospital.

The "Brereton Relatives Room" has been set up to enable relatives to stay close to intensive care patients at Arrowe Park Hospital.

It has been named after North Wales Deputy Chief Constable Bill Brereton's daughter, Jennifer.

Since Jennifer died in a motorbike crash two years ago, Mr Brereton, his wife Jacqui and other daughter Rachel have been raising the cash.

The new facility is next to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit and allows families to sleep, drink and eat without being far from their relative.

Staff at the hospital believe having family close at hand is a major help on the road to recovery for many patients.
