Coastal trains pledge
Central train
Central say they hope more people will use the train

Central Trains is promising to improve its services to the Lincolnshire coast.

It follows complaints of chronic overcrowding on services to Skegness.

Central Trains says this summer will see the end of the single carriage Class 153 trains which run between Nottingham and Skegness.

Instead, services will have a minimum of two carriages and in some cases as many as five.

Extra carriages will also be added to holiday services, in an effort to tackle overcrowding and improve the company's performance.

Central Trains director of network services, Tony Brown, said: "This announcement is good news for passengers.

"I hope it means more local people, as well as tourists, will consider travelling by rail."

He also added that the announcement by the Strategic Rail Authority to cut services on Central Trains, will not affect Lincolnshire.
