Arrest after wrong way motorway dash
Motorway
The truck was driven west on the eastbound carriageway
A man is still under arrest in hospital after a pick-up truck was driven the wrong way down a motorway and collided with a number of vehicles.

The incident happened on the M62 near junction 22 at approximately 1300 GMT on Friday.

A 32-year-old motorist, from Oldham, was initially spotted by police officers driving a stolen Ford Fiesta on the motorway, a West Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said.

After crashing on a slip road he ran across the carriageway and became involved in a brief struggle with the owner of a pick-up truck.

He then rejoined the M62 in that vehicle.

The spokeswoman added: "The driver drove off back down motorway against the flow of traffic, west on the eastbound carriageway before colliding with a Vauxhall Omega.

"Five other vehicles were involved in the collision one mile west of junction 22."

A man was arrested at the scene and taken to Calderdale Royal Infirmary with minor injures.

Three other people from the other vehicles involved also received minor injuries.
