Police in Shropshire are appealing for witnesses after a horse was shot in Shropshire. The incident happened in a field off Shawbirch Road, in Admaston, Telford.
He was shot in the chest on Tuesday afternoon.
The owner took the horse to a vet who found two puncture wounds in his chest and on his right hand side.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said the horse was shot with an airgun.
"This was an act of mindlessness on a defenceless animal," he said.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
