Police appeal after horse shot
Police in Shropshire are appealing for witnesses after a horse was shot in Shropshire.

The incident happened in a field off Shawbirch Road, in Admaston, Telford.

He was shot in the chest on Tuesday afternoon.

The owner took the horse to a vet who found two puncture wounds in his chest and on his right hand side.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said the horse was shot with an airgun.

"This was an act of mindlessness on a defenceless animal," he said.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
