15 arrests in drugs swoop

Police have arrested 15 people across south Bristol in a crackdown on drug dealing.

The arrests, under Operation Buffalo, were executed over the last two weeks.

They were followed by the seizure of two offensive weapons - including what is believed to be a cosh - base amphetamine and a quantity of heroin and cash.

10 arrests were for drug trafficking offences, including five for possession with intent to supply.

'Clear message'

One person was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, ammunition and possession with intent to supply.

Sergeant Andy Gwyther said: "Operation Buffalo was about disrupting the supply of drugs in our local community.

"We are sending out a clear message that we are not going to let these people undertake these activities with impunity."

The arrests took place in Knowle, Hartcliffe, Stockwood, Whitchurch, St Annes, Withywood and Brislington.
