Neighbourhood complaints on the increase
Council houses
Many complaints are about violent behaviour
Reports of nuisance neighbours and anti-social behaviour have more than doubled on council estates in the north of Sheffield.

Around 500 complaints were made to housing offices in Foxhill and Parson Cross between April and December 2002.

Disruptive children and teenagers were among the tenants' main concerns.

There were also complaints about untidy gardens and noisy pets as well as more serious concerns such as violent behaviour.

Sheffield City Council's housing department is to meet with residents to assure them it will take action where it can.

But last year more than a third of the complaints investigated by officials had to be abandoned because there was not enough evidence.
