| Wednesday, 12 February, 2003, 11:22 GMT Archer police officer 'dealt with' ![]() Lord Archer was on day release from North Sea Camp Lincolnshire Police have completed an investigation into one of its officers who was involved in a controversial lunch meeting with jailed peer Jeffrey Archer. The female officer, a prison official and Lord Archer had lunch in Lincoln while the peer was on day release from North Sea Camp prison. A statement from the police said the matter had been dealt with internally and was now closed. She is continuing to serve with Lincolnshire Police.
The prison official involved, Paul Hocking, has since resigned as head of security at North Sea Camp. The lunch took place at Zucchini's Italian restaurant in Lincoln, while the millionaire novelist was on a work placement at a local theatre. Lord Archer, the former deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, was jailed for four years at the Old Bailey in July 2002 after being convicted of perjury and perverting the course of justice in relation to his 1987 libel trial against the Daily Star newspaper.
