| Tuesday, 11 February, 2003, 13:55 GMT Bootleg Beatles tracks found ![]() The original tapes were recovered in January Trading standards officers have uncovered a collection of unreleased Beatles tracks in a raid in Worcestershire. They joined investigators from the British Phonographic Institute and West Midlands Police after boxed sets, each featuring 24 Beatles CDs, were advertised for sale on the internet for more than 200. The raid took place at an address in Malvern and several bootleg copies of Beatles' recordings, from what are known as the Get Back sessions, were recovered. The sessions featured hundreds of tapes of rare and unreleased material which were stolen from the Beatles studio more than 30 years ago. 'Serious matters' Get Back bootlegs have been discovered in Europe and America but the original tapes were recovered earlier this year. Mark Strain, Principal Trading Standards Officer for Worcestershire County Council Trading Standards Service said: "To sell and have in possession for sale counterfeit items in breach of copyright and trade mark legislation is a criminal offence. "We take these matters seriously and will investigate where necessary. Inquiries are continuing in respect of the seized items." A man in his 30s has been bailed by Malvern police pending further inquiries. | See also: 10 Jan 03 | Entertainment 07 Oct 02 | Scotland 23 Aug 02 | Wales Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
