Father exhumed over untidy graveyard
All Saints Church graveyard, Sedgley
Trevor Lloyd is angry at the overgrown conditions
A pensioner from the Black Country is having his father's body exhumed because he is so disgusted with the state of the graveyard.

Trevor Lloyd plans to rebury his father in another cemetery next to his mother, who died last year.

John Lloyd was buried in the graveyard at All Saints Church in Sedgley in 1957.

But his son says the overgrown state of the churchyard make it difficult for his family to visit his grave.

Mr Lloyd said his mother, Nora, was so upset at the state of the churchyard she requested to be buried elsewhere.

He now wants to make sure that his mother and father are finally laid to rest together.

Mr Lloyd said: "I suppose I am a one off.

"But I felt it was going to make me happy, the rest of my family happy and it would be mother's wish that she would be with dad and vice versa."

All Saints Church are responsible for maintaining the pathways in the cemetery, but say it is the responsibility of the relatives of people buried there to maintain the area around the graves.

Mr Lloyd's father will be re-buried at nearby Gornal Wood next to his wife next month.
