The Lady Chapel at Hereford Cathedral is in its final stage of a seven year restoration costing 1.2m. The cathedral's Perpetual Trust is asking people to donate money and have their name carved on one of the building's stones. Glynn Morgan from the trust says the project is an excellent way to involve the whole community. "It is one way which people can contribute to a project," he said. "The reason why I like the scheme, is that it makes people very aware that the cathedral belongs to everybody in the county." The restoration of the 13th Century chapel includes replacing stonework and restoring glass. | See also: 09 Dec 02 | England Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
