| Wednesday, 22 January, 2003, 12:31 GMT Police appeal in scaffolding death ![]() Essex Police have issued an appeal for a nurse and other witnesses to come forward following the death of a man who was hit by scaffolding boards hanging from a van. The 23-year-old man died five days after being struck by the metal boards as he walked along a road, police said. Toby Delderfield, of Theydon Bois, Essex, suffered severe head injuries in the accident at Abridge, Essex, on 16 January. He died in hospital on Tuesday, police said.
