Shooting victim starred in gun film
Carl Seaton, who was shot dead
Carl Seaton starred in a film about gun crime
The man shot dead in Liverpool at the weekend starred in a film about the rise of gun crime in Britain's inner cities, the BBC can reveal.

Carl Seaton, 28, was shot near a pub on Wavertree Road, Edge Hill, at about 0045 GMT on Sunday.

In the film Mr Seaton played the part of a young man who bought a gun to protect himself having been threatened with violence.

Later in the film, which was made four years ago, he is seen buying the gun and practising how to use it

Armed police have been patrolling the streets of Liverpool since the shooting - the second gun death in the city in a fortnight.

Mr Seaton died at the Royal Liverpool Hospital after being found with gunshot wounds at Martensen Street.

Officers believe he had been drinking at the nearby Weighing Machine pub at the Junction of Marmaduke Street and Wavertree Road.

They said two masked men were involved but have not established a motive for the killing.

In a separate incident, a 27-year-old man was shot dead in his home in Cooper Lane, St Helens, just after midnight on Sunday.

Two men from Leeds, aged 22 and 25, have been arrested and are being questioned on suspicion of his murder, officers said.

On 3 December, 27-year old Raymond Craven was shot dead at the Thatched House pub on Wavertree High Street. Two other men were injured.

Police say they do not yet know whether the shooting is connected to the killing of Mr Seaton.
