Five arrests over fatal arson attack
Fire
Ms McDonald had been in an upstairs bedroom
Police have made five arrests in connection with a fatal arson attack in Leicester.

The teenagers were arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a mother-of-four at her home on Sunday.

Sue McDonald, 47, who had been battling cancer, died just weeks before she was due to be married.

Four young men, all aged between 17 and 18, were arrested early on Thursday and the fifth was arrested later in the day.

Her partner, Rod Harris, 46, who she was due to marry later this month, escaped the fire in the Broughton Astley area and is being treated in hospital.

Miss McDonald had four children, Clare, Ben, Paul and Matt, and a grandchild, Lucy.

They are now staying with friends and relatives.

The four suspects are currently being questioned at Beaumont Leys and Wigston police stations, a spokesman said.
