| Thursday, 21 November, 2002, 10:15 GMT Wind farm plans to be considered ![]() Objections have been raised over the windfarm plans Plans for a wind farm in North Cornwall, which have been met with a flurry of local opposition, are to be discussed by district councillors. The proposed site of the turbines at Otterham, near Boscastle, will be visited by members of the council's planning and development committee on Thursday. Councillors will then meet members of the public to hear their concerns. North Cornwall District Council has received close to 200 letters of opposition about the planned north coast development. Five turbines Many of the letters from the public say the development will be a visual intrusion and that it will distract drivers on the A39. The project's detractors also claim it will lead to the devaluation of surrounding properties. The application, by Powergen Renewables Developments, is for permission to erect five 71-metre-high wind turbines on land near a local area of outstanding natural beauty and heritage coast.
