The proposals for the station, in the Buckley Wells area, are part of expansion plans by Metrolink. Residents will be given a chance to comment on the scheme, which includes 200 park and ride spaces. It is hoped the station would cut traffic on nearby roads. Register objections The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive says the new stop is part of its long term strategy. It is aiming to provide car parking at major points on the public transport network to encourage drivers to leave their vehicles behind. The meeting on Tuesday evening will allow residents to comment on the plans and take into account any objections.
