| Wednesday, 23 October, 2002, 11:43 GMT 12:43 UK Hundred drug dealers 'dobbed in' ![]() Residents are keen to "Dob in a Dealer" One hundred people have been arrested in a "Dob in a Dealer" scheme in Bradford. Three months ago police launched Crackdown in Bradford - A Community Against Drugs in the city to stop people dealing in Class A drugs. Part of the success of this action has been attributed to the "Dob in a Dealer" campaign, set up with Crimestoppers. It provides an anonymous phone line for the public to share information about drug dealers. 'Extremely proactive' So far more than 200 calls have been made about suspicious drug activity in the area. Chief Superintendent Graham Sunderland said: "Residents have given us a clear message - that they don't want drug dealers living among them. "We will continue to be extremely proactive and take action so we can disrupt drug markets right across the district." Posters about the "Dub in a Dealer" campaign have been displayed in police stations across Bradford and Keighley. Crimestoppers regional co-ordinator Detective Sergeant Ian Froggett said: "People dealing in drugs and misery should fear the police and this new campaign to disrupt local drug markets." Calls to Crimestoppers are not traced or taped and callers do not have to give their name. | See also: 16 Oct 02 | England 02 Sep 02 | England 07 Jan 02 | England Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
