Three supermarkets in Greater Manchester have been raided and fireworks worth more than 20,000 have been stolen. J Sainsbury in Stockport had fireworks valued at 8,500 taken by burglars who used metal cutters to break into a warehouse. Fireworks valued at 10,000 were stolen from Safeway over the weekend, and J Sainsbury in Leigh was also targeted by thieves. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "With 5 November only two weeks away, fireworks are in great demand by those who think they can make a profit by selling on stolen fireworks.
