Plane bomb hoaxer jailed
Court graphic
A man who phoned in a bomb scare after being told he was too late to get on his flight from Heathrow has been jailed for five years.

Yasrub Hussain Shah, 23, from Luton, was angry when he was told he had missed the flight to Pakistan on 28 July.

He told check-in staff: "If we're not getting on it, it won't leave."

Soon after he left, police received a phone call saying: "Pakistan International Airlines, there is a bomb on it leaving at 8pm."

A thorough search of the plane was carried out through the night and passengers and luggage were unloaded, but no bomb was found.

The call was traced to a mobile phone used by Shah and he was arrested when he arrived at the airport four days later for a replacement flight.

He was jailed at Isleworth Crown Court in London on Friday, having already pleaded guilty to making a bomb hoax.
