A builder accused of murdering his teenage niece had a long-running fixation with young girls, a court has heard.

Stuart Campbell, 44, denies abducting and murdering 15-year-old Danielle Jones.

The jury at Chelmsford Crown Court were told Mr Campbell had posed as a photographer, inviting girls as young as 15 back to his Essex home to model topless.

This defendant had an abiding passion for girls in school uniform.

Orlando Pownall, QC, prosecuting, said Mr Campbell was fascinated with pornographic websites with names such as Young Lolita Beauties and described as "100% free Japanese schoolgirl dirty pics".

He said when the police searched Mr Campbell's home they found a handwritten list of teenage websites.

Mr Pownall said: "This defendant had an abiding passion for girls in school uniform."

Lingerie bag

The court heard the defendant had invited a number of girls to his house to be photographed, showing several of them a business card for "Cinderella's Photography - beauty, glamour, portrait, fashion".

Following Danielle's disappearance in June last year a green bag was found in the defendant's loft which contained lingerie which police believe was used for his models, the court heard.

It was in this bag that a blood-stained stocking was found, which the jury heard contained a match of both Danielle and Mr Campbell's DNA, said Mr Pownall.

Mr Pownall told the court of an alleged incident more than 10 years ago in which two girls, aged 15 and 16, were approached by Mr Campbell who told them he was a photographer and wanted to take pictures of them.

The girls said they were told to bring their school uniforms with them.

One pupil said she posed topless on a bed wearing stockings and suspenders, the jury was told.

Oriental garment

One said she later went back to Mr Campbell's home and took the developed pictures, of which there were two copies, out of his letterbox and tore up the topless shots and kept the rest.

Mr Pownall said: "The defendant was later to admit that the oriental garment worn in some of the pictures belonged to his wife."

Danielle went missing in June 2001

It is alleged Mr Campbell approached another 15-year-old girl in Grays in 1995 and took her back to his home.

The prosecution said he produced a black-all-in-one bodice but she refused to wear it.

He asked her to hitch up her skirt, take her top off and pull her bra straps down as he took more pictures, said Mr Pownall.

The prosecution also said the defendant had taken pictures of schoolgirls without their knowledge.

In 1997 two teenage girls saw him staring at them from a window in his house and police later found photographs of them both at his home, Mr Pownall said.

Mr Campbell has been married twice. He met his first wife Jennifer Freeman when she was 15 and he was 18 or 19. They had a daughter the same year.

His second wife, Danielle's auntie Debbie, was 15 when they met at the local swimming pool - he was 23.
