Search widened for missing man
Jeffrey Hodgson and his parents
Jeffrey Hodgson wandered off outside a hotel
The parents of a man who went missing on a family holiday are extending their search for their son.

Jeffrey Hodgson, who has learning difficulties, disappeared in Ibiza in July last year.

His parents, Beryl and Derek from Stockport, are extending their search to the Spanish mainland and renewing their appeal for information.

Mr Hodgson was due to celebrate his 40th birthday on Saturday.

He wandered off as his parents booked into a hotel in Cala Llonga.

Numerous searches of the island and a leafleting campaign, have proved fruitless.

Mrs Hodgson said: "Jeffrey's like a kid trapped in a man's body.

"He can latch on to people because he does that here in Stockport, so it's likely he would do the same over in Spain."

Mr and Mrs Hodgson believe Jeffrey may have left Ibiza and are widening their search to the mainland.

DNA samples

They are appealing for holidaymakers to report any suspected sightings of Jeffrey.

Mr Hodgson said: "If Jeffrey has got friendly with a group of people he would follow them on to a bus or ferry, without thinking where they were going.

"He has no fear of unknown situations and once he has a routine he would be completely happy where he was."

In April, the couple had to provide DNA samples after the discovery of two bodies in Ibiza, but neither was found to be Mr Hodgson.
