| Wednesday, 25 September, 2002, 14:31 GMT 15:31 UK Man jailed for murdering ex-wife's lover ![]() The shooting happened in Denvilles in Hampshire A man has been found guilty of shooting his ex-wife's lover at point blank range in broad daylight, killing him almost instantly. Raymond Grayson, 36, forced David Haythorne, 34, to kneel down in front of him and then shot him in full view of passers-by. The shooting happened on 8 October 2001 in Denvilles near Havant in Hampshire. On Wednesday at Winchester Crown Court Grayson was sentenced to life for murder. Firearm charges Grayson, formerly of Nutwick Close, Portsmouth, was found not guilty of threatening to kill his former wife. Co-defendant Paul Richardson, 39, of Nutwick Close, Portsmouth, was sentenced to five years for the unlawful transfer of a shotgun and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter.
