| Wednesday, 25 September, 2002, 14:08 GMT 15:08 UK Security stepped up at Leeds schools ![]() The new measures aim to improve pupils' safety Extra security measures are to be taken at some Leeds schools. Money is being made available to reduce the dangers from arson, vandalism, theft and trespassers. Work will include the installation of CCTV systems, fencing, lighting and controlled access systems to buildings. Among the 20 Leeds schools which will benefit from the security improvements are St Theresa's Primary School in Halton and Castleton Primary School in Armley. Security gates At St Theresa's new security gates and fencing will be fitted. While Castleton Primary will get CCTV cameras. The money for these extra measures is coming from the city council.
