Council moves to evict travellers
The travellers' camp near Clitheroe, Lancashire
It is thought the group wants to stay for up to a week
Legal action is being taken to remove a travellers' camp from private land in Lancashire.

Ribble Valley Borough Council has already served "notice to quit" orders on the camp made up of 50 caravans.

The move against the camp, close to Clitheroe, has the backing of Lancashire police.

David Morris, chief executive of Ribble Valley Council, said he was not willing to let the group remain.

He told BBC North West Today: "We're not prepared to tolerate disruption to the community on this particular scale.

"And it is a severe disruption and a worry to local people."

The travellers arrived on the site last Sunday and it is understood they were hoping to stay for up to a week before travelling back to southern Ireland.
